Are we over-treating lower back pain?

drugs and pills

When it comes to lower back pain, less may be more.  Recent studies show that more treatment does not equate to better care or outcomes.  It is easy to fall into the trap of over-analysing posture, leg lengths, pelvic asymmetries, scans and so many other tests.

Evidence points mainly to staying active, a brief course of manual mobilisation or manipulation of the restricted spinal segments, followed up by self-management exercises for maintenance.
